southwest baltimore home broke into flames, killing a woman and her son as he was trying to save her life. neighbors told us don ritter was trapped on the third floor and her son was trying to save her. they both died of smoke inhalation. fire officials are trying to determine the cause of the fire. >> a developing story out of baltimore city, police confirmed they are investigating two rapes. here is what we know right now. the latest case happened early sunday morn. a 27-year-old woman was assaulted at around 4:00 a.m. and investigators said another attack happened thursday morning. a woman was awakened by a suspect with an assault her. that will victim was 29-year- old. police say they do not think the cases are related. and baltimore county police are

looking for a man who ran away after using a gun tooled up a 7/11. it happened at 11:00 a.m. this morning. investigators are looking for a white man in his early 20s. no word on how much money he took. >> police say they know who is behind a home -- a string of home burglaries. the investigation could open up something bigger. walter dan meyer is accused of burglarizing six homes. they're trying to determine if he is linked to another string of robberies in the area as well. if you witness anything suspicious, call police. authorities tell us a 15-year- old girl was walking to school when a man allegedly tried to grab her through the window of his car. this all happened around 9:30 a.m. this morning around cedar road. police are looking for a man in his 40's with a dark complexion,

believed to be caucasian or hispanic. he was driving a two-door pickup truck, older model, with tinted windows. >> mayor stephany rawlings- blake is unveiling a multipronged proposal to generate more money for schools. some of these are controversial. >> the mayor's school construction plan goes beyond raising the city's bonnell tax, but a number of the elements of it go beyond the city's control. it is unclear if the bottle tax will come up tonight. >> we have now reached a breaking point and it is time to act now. today, the school system faces a major funding shortfall for school construction and richard -- renovation. >> it is already meeting stiff

>> it is almost mid-november and we have temperatures still in the 70's. not quite a record high today, but close. 76 degrees at b.w.i. marshall. 77 is the record. downtown did hit 77, but the official statistics are measured at the airport. look at the normal, 57. we were almost 27 -- 20 degrees warmer than normal officially. the morning low of 56 is more representative of what we have for an afternoon high this year. -- this time of year. it will be mild tonight, but changes will be rolling in tomorrow afternoon and into wednesday. in the meantime, light, southerly breezes and clouds in the area will keep temperatures mild tonight. we started in the 50's in the

morning and wound up in the 70's. across the middle of a ticket is still unusually mild 74 in downtown baltimore right now. 66 in frederick. tonight, the low is staying in the '50s -- 50's. the wind out of the south /southwest at about 6-12 miles per hour. that line of showers has some thunder and even some severe weather in it. up toward cleveland, some have become a severe thunderstorms. there has been one tornado reporting champaign county in illinois. the potential is for this to produce isolated tornadoes. a much weaker version of that fraud will be coming through our area tomorrow. right now, it stretches along

that ribbon of clouds into the southern plains and in eastern canada. showers tomorrow, and just that in the area will keep the temperature down a little tomorrow. and then as the front side south, wednesday -- slides south, wednesday, we will be firmly entrenched in the chillier air. there may be enough for snow in western maryland with a chilly rain in the eastern part of the state. the warmest day was today. cloudy showers tomorrow with highs in the low 60's. a small craft advisory in effect, especially for the morning hours. but those winds can be pretty brisk when this front signed -- slide through.
